Teaching Style: Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde; My Pilates class is gonna make you SWEAT but sometimes I basically host supervised nap partys. A walking contradiction; I lean heavy into the Yin and the Yang in all aspects of my life but especially my Yoga Practice.

My name is Jessica Vander Burgt and my passion for living an active lifestyle ignited at eight years old when I was introduced to playing organized sports. Growing up I loved soccer, volleyball, running, ball hockey and swimming. This passion for sports and movement led me into Kinesiology. I completed my degree in 2012 at York University. Although I learned a lot about the human body and continued to play sports during this time, it wasn’t until after I completed my degree that I started a proper workout regimen for myself.
Shortly after discovering a new passion for strength training I completed my personal training certification. I have been working in the fitness industry as a personal trainer for the past ten years. I continue to learn new movements and workouts through different workout programs and other trainers I idolize. I am constantly discovering new ways to stay healthy in the ever-evolving world of health and wellness. I am dedicated to enhancing people’s physical and mental well-being by encouraging an active lifestyle.

When I'm Not Teaching, You'll Find Me: busy with my family, I’m married with three kids and two Havanese pups. I love being outside biking, hiking, or paddling. When indoors, I love getting creative: cooking from scratch, making natural products, brewing kombucha, making bracelets, painting, or playing with clay.
